  • Register in person at the Mathews Voter Registration and Elections Office

  • Make sure your voter registration is correct and active

  • Check in person at the Mathews Voter Registration and Elections Office

  • Complete an application to get an Absentee Ballot which will be mailed to you
  • To apply, call the Registrar at 804-725-3200 
  • Pick up an Absentee Ballot application at the Mathews Voter Registration and Elections Office 10604 Buckley Hall Road, Mathews 23109  
  • The last day to apply for an Absentee Ballot is Friday, October 27
  • Mail back your Absentee Ballot or drop off in person or bring to your polling place on Election Day
  • Early voting starts Friday, September 22 until Saturday, November 4 
  • To vote bring your identification to the Mathews Voter Registration and Elections Office 10604 Buckley Hall Road, Mathews 23109
  • Early voting hours are:
    • Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm 
    • Saturday, October 28, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
    • Saturday, November 4, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
  • Mail your Absentee Ballot any day until Election Day
  • Mailing address is on the ballot envelope
  • For your vote to count, the ballot must be postmarked by Tuesday, November 7
  • Mathews has three voting precincts
    • Chesapeake Precinct votes at Mathews Elementary School
    • Westville Precinct votes at Thomas Hunter Elementary School; 
    • Piankatank Precinct votes at Mathews High School 
  • Call the Registrar at 804-725-3200 to find your voting location 
  • Find your polling place on-line at vote.elections.virginia.gov
  • Election Day is Tuesday, November 7 
  • Polls open at 6:00 am and close at 7:00 pm 
  • Bring your identification to vote
